Day 1
Transfer from the airport to the hotel
Hutong Neighbourhood by Rickshaw Guided Tour
Upon your arrival, our driver will be waiting for you at the airport arrival sector, holding a signboard with your name. You will then be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a fantastic introduction to an old Beijing district, where you will explore a 'Hutong' neighborhood situated by Shichahai Lake. Traverse its narrow streets with a guided rickshaw ride, providing a glimpse into the cultural heritage preserved in these historic areas amidst the rapid development of the Chinese capital. While many hutongs face demolition, certain areas retain their 'special status' to safeguard Beijing's cultural legacy. (D)
Day 2
Guided Tour of Tiananmen Square
Guided Tour of the Forbidden City and Imperial Palace
Summer Palace Guided Tour
Roast Duck Dinner
We'll commence our journey in central Beijing at Tiananmen, the fourth largest city square globally, spanning 440,000 square meters. Adjacent to the Forbidden City, it was the site of Mao Zedong's proclamation of the People's Republic of China in 1949. Following this, a guided tour of the Forbidden City and Imperial Palace awaits, recognized by UNESCO as the most extensive collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. In the afternoon, we'll explore the elegant Summer Palace, showcasing the art of Chinese landscape garden design amidst lakes and hills. The evening concludes with a delightful traditional roast duck dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 3
Guided Tour of the Badaling Great Wall
Visit to the Olympic Green
Transfer from the hotel to the airport
Today's adventure focuses on the iconic Great Wall of China, a renowned symbol and one of the country's most famous tourist attractions. Originally constructed from the 7th century BC onwards as a defensive structure against nomadic invaders, it now stands as one of the world's wonders. Our journey takes us 44 miles north of Beijing to the Badaling section, recognized as the best-preserved part of the Wall, dating back to the 16th century. Following this historical exploration, we'll drive to the Olympic Green and park, a legacy of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Later, our driver will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight. (B,L)
