First-aid Kit Checklist

The following is a list of items you should consider including in your first-aid kit. Please consult your pharmacist for various brands available.
 
Essentials 
  • Adhesive tape
  • Bandages and safety pins
  • Elasticised support bandages – for knees, ankles etc
  • Gauze swabs
  • Non-adhesive dressings
  • Wound Closure Strips
  • Scissors (small)
  • Sterile alcohol wipes
  • Plasters (band-aids, blister plasters)
  • Sutures
  • Thermometer (note that mercury thermometers are prohibited by airlines)
  • Tweezers
Medications
  • Diarrhoea and Nausea medication
  • Antifungal cream or powder – for fungal skin infections and thrush
  • Antihistamines – for allergies, e.g., hay fever; insect bites or stings, motion sickness
  • Antiseptic (such as povidone-iodine) – for cuts and grazes
  • Cold and flu tablets, throat lozenges and nasal decongestants
  • Painkillers (e.g. aspirin or paracetamol)
Miscellaneous
  • Calamine lotion, sting relief or Aloe Vera – to ease irritation from sunburn and insect bites or stings
  • Eye drops
  • Re-hydration mixture – to prevent dehydration, due to severe diarrhoea
  • Your own personal medications and prescriptions
