Day 1: Beijing - Xian
Departure to Xian. Xian city tour

Take a morning high-speed train from Beijing to Xi’an, enjoying a smooth and scenic journey through the Chinese countryside. On arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Later, set out on an introductory tour of Xi’an, historically known as the eastern gateway of the ancient Silk Road. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore landmarks such as the remarkably well-preserved City Wall, the vibrant Muslim Quarter, or the Bell and Drum Tower district. In the evening, attend a Tang Dynasty music and dance performance, complete with ornate costumes, traditional melodies, and elegant choreography, all accompanied by a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Xian
Terracotta Army. Departure to Shanghai

After breakfast, set out to visit one of the most remarkable archaeological finds of the past century: the Terracotta Army. Walk through the immense excavation halls where thousands of life-sized soldiers, horses, and chariots stand in silent formation, created to protect the mausoleum of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Learn about the site’s history, the extraordinary craftsmanship involved, and the meticulous restoration work that continues today at this UNESCO World Heritage landmark. Later, return to Xi’an for some free time or optional visits before your driver takes you to the railway station. In the evening, board the overnight sleeper train to Shanghai—an authentic travel experience featuring private berths and a unique opportunity to observe the country from a different angle.

Day 3: Shanghai
Arrival in Shanghai. Shanghai city tour

Arrive in Shanghai, a vibrant metropolis known for its striking blend of tradition and cutting-edge modernity. Meet your guide at the station and set off on a city tour. Your first stop is the Shanghai Museum, famous for its exceptional collections of ancient bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy, and classic Chinese furniture. Continue on to People’s Square, the administrative and cultural centre of the city. Later, enjoy a leisurely walk along the Bund, Shanghai’s iconic riverfront lined with elegant colonial-era architecture, offering magnificent views of Pudong’s futuristic skyline and soaring skyscrapers.

Day 4: Shanghai
Explore Shanghai

Begin your day in Old Shanghai with a visit to one of the city’s traditional classical gardens, such as the Yu Garden, celebrated for its graceful pavilions, tranquil ponds, and refined Ming-era design. Wander through the lively bazaar that surrounds it, filled with handicraft stalls, tea houses, and local specialties. Later, shift from historic charm to cutting-edge modernity with a visit to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, one of Shanghai’s most iconic structures, offering sweeping views of the city from its observation platforms. Conclude your day with a stroll along Nanjing Road, the city’s most famous shopping avenue, lined with boutiques, cafés, and brightly lit storefronts.

Day 5: Shanghai
Departure

Your tour concludes after breakfast. Your driver will meet you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to Shanghai Airport in time for your flight home or onward travel.
